Drop.io is a great alternative to anyone who hates dealing with troublesome FTP clients and settings through firewalls and corporate mumbo-jumbo. Drop.io (pronounced e-oh) is a file sharing service that has many features that ad in making it really simple to use. It can be best described in their words:

Sharing your information is also easy. Drop.io gives you many methods to share files with co-workers and friends. Email and SMS alerts can be sent when a files are added. RSS and Twitter are also possible. You can even use it to share files with your Facebook friends.
